AN INTRODUCTION
We have been
involved in the design of saddles for more than 30
years. Initially, these were for our own
personal use, but we started to custom make following requests
from pupils and students to buy them.
We do not carry
stock items as every saddle is custom made for each
horse and rider (it is as important it fits the
rider as well as the horse).
Each saddle is
handmade from start to finish by a single
craftsman.
Please contact
us for further information and current prices or to
arrange an appointment.
LEATHER
We use
English full grained vegetable slow tanned leather
butts and hides for all saddles and bridlework.
The leather being tanned in the traditional way and
then hand finished.
Some saddles
available in Buffalo leather. (English
tanned and oiled not foreign tanned).
Memel leather
is also available on selected saddles. The leather
is pit tanned using the traditional process taking
14 weeks. This produces strong heavy flap leather that
is incredibly soft and affording good grip.
The finest
French Calf for the ultimate in luxury. Used on
seats, pads and panels. Flaps and skirts can be
covered in French Calf too.
Pigskin
the traditional seat and pad covering. Extremely
hard wearing. Limited availability and colour
choice.

Dressage saddles
can be made with adjustable stirrup bars either
‘Wellep’ or ‘Cotterill.’
A fixed ‘E’

allowing the placement of the stirrup leather
further back.
